Rainy Days & Golden Rays: Sara & Jennie Tie the Knot - 21.06.24

Sara and Jennie’s love story began in the most unexpected of times—during lockdown, when their Tinder swipes turned into video calls and an instant connection. Within thirty minutes of joining the app, they started speaking, and from their very first video call, they both knew something special was unfolding. That very first video call led Sara to delete the app the very next day, fully confident that she had found the one.

From that point on, their bond grew stronger, with every conversation affirming that they were meant to be. Their love story continued to evolve, and soon enough, Jennie decided to take a leap of faith on the shores of Portrush, crafting a beautiful beachside proposal. But in a twist that could only belong to Sara and Jennie’s story, Sara said “no”—with a catch! She had already planned a romantic proposal of her own for their upcoming trip to Paris and had a ring waiting for Jennie.

Their pre-wedding shoot in Limavady took place at one of their early date locations. Sara and Jennie arrived prepared—picnic blanket, bubbles to pop, and fully open to getting the most from their session despite the rain. They claimed to be nervous, but their love for one another radiated, making it effortless to capture their connection.

Fast forward to their wedding day in Derry, which was initially set to take place at the stunning Guildhall. However, they embraced spontaneity and decided to marry a week earlier than planned, opting not to split their photography coverage and instead enjoy extra time together for portraits on the day of their celebrations. Their first look took place in the City Hotel's Writers Suite. this was an incredibly emotional moment—I might have even shed a tear or two!

Rain poured from morning to night, but Sara and Jennie weren’t about to let a little weather dampen their spirits. After all, there’s a saying that a wet knot is harder to unravel. We embraced the rain, taking to the City Hotel rooftop and their suite for some intimate and romantic portraits. Even the iconic Peace Bridge, a must for the couple, made for some stunning rainy-day shots.

The couple had a moment to themselves in their suite while their guests prepared to greet them and kickstart the celebrations. As the band played in the evening, the sun made a perfectly timed appearance as it began to set, casting the most incredible golden light. We paused the dancing for a quick breather and stepped outside to soak in those final, breathtaking sunset moments.

Sara and Jennie’s day was a testament to their love, resilience, and ability to find joy in every situation. It was an absolute privilege to capture this part of their journey together, and I couldn’t be more excited to share their story so far with you! Here's to many more adventures for these two amazing souls!
